Character
Name: Tulio
Series: The Road to El Dorado
Timeline: Pre-canon.
Canon Resource Links: Here he is on the Road to El Dorado wiki and Here's the wikipedia article for the movie itself

Personality: Tulio is undoubtedly, a trickster. Canonically, he is a con man by trade, resulting in a very prominent dishonest streak. He rarely expresses any guilt for his various acts of swindling, regardless of whether he'd just cheated a sailor out of his hard earned wages in a rigged dice game or if he'd deceived an entire city by posing as a deity; gleefully encouraged political discord for his own benefit and plotted to use his assumed deified position to cheat said city out of a vast fortune. Whether this is because he's unaware of how his errant nature affects those around him or if he knows and simply doesn't care is unclear, but in either way, he is notably and near incorrigibly unscrupulous.

He is something of a control freak and is rarely at ease unless things are going according to plan and optimally according to a plan of his devising. He is more often than not skeptical and suspicious of those around him. This appears to be linked to the fact that he is a pragmatist at heart, placing his faith in what he knows to be fact and more importantly, what he can control. This is made explicitly clear as he states that he "doesn't believe in fate" almost immediately after he is introduced. His suspicious nature might also be attributed to his own inherent dishonesty. After all, if he wouldn't hesitate to blatantly lie to just about everyone, why should anyone else?

His need for control often causes him to be exceptionally high strung, tending to leap to the worst case scenario as soon as any given situation begins to go wrong. This often results in a state of borderline melodramatic irritability and panic. He seems to be completely unaware that these states of frustrated panic are irrational, claiming instead that he "worries exactly the right amount."

Beneath his prominent irritability and anxiety, he does have a great sense of fun. This usually makes itself known when things seem to be working in his favour and often manifests in a tendency to gloat and the odd moment of completely and utterly unrestrained glee. He also has an undeniable flair for the dramatic and notably for improvisation, often initiating grand spectacles and elaborate bluffs to get himself out of trouble and more often than not, enjoying every minute of it.

In spite of his generally suspicious and devious nature, Tulio has a very strong sense of loyalty, almost taking it to the point of being somewhat clingy. He is very attached to Miguel -his friend and partner in crime for presumably quite some time. He is often shown affirming or reaffirming their partnership and does seem to genuinely care about his well being. Indeed, he almost instinctively refuses to leave him behind as they are being pursued by an enormous malevolent, mystical stone jaguar during the film's climax. Additionally, when he realized that this friendship was in jeopardy -and that it was in part, his fault- he was deeply and visibly upset. Although admittedly, this upset chiefly manifested in stubborn, petulant sulking up to the point of their reconciliation. In short, while he is rarely quick to place his trust in anyone, he often becomes very attached to those who have earned it.

He does also have a sense of morality beneath his unscrupulous nature. Indeed, for all his dubious relationship with the law, he is never shown doing anything that would directly harm anyone unless he himself was being threatened. Additionally, he was shown to be deeply unsettled by the idea of people being sacrificed in his name to the point where he insisted on leaving El Dorado when this seemed to be an inevitability. Additionally, he was ultimately willing to risk personal sacrifice in the interests of protecting the city and people of El Dorado from colonists. This may imply that he is capable of feeling a sense of personal responsibility for the well being of others, provided that they have somehow endeared themselves to him.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Try to cover the good points of what they can do, their life skills (not necessarily powers, but things they're just good at). Go into their biggest fears and what they just can’t do.

Pokémon Information
Affiliation: What career path will your character be taking? Breeder, Trainer? Or maybe even down the dark path of becoming a member of Team Rocket? Note: All Rocket members start as grunts. (For right now, only those three positions are available, whether your character chooses to follow their assigned path or not.)
Starter: What starter pokémon do you want your character to have? Please use the list linked above to choose from. Certain pokémon have an orange star next to their names; if you choose one of these starters (Deino, Zorua, Litwick, Pikachu, Scyther, Dratini, Bagon, Gible, Axew, Ralts, Riolu, Beldum, Larvitar, Eevee, or Beldum) you must provide reasoning. You do not need to explain your reasoning for pokémon other than those listed above.
Password: This is where you'll put the passwords from the Rules and the F.A.Q. There are two words, to assure you've read both.

Samples
First Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. Eight sentences is the minimum. This is a PokéConnect post--one that will be on the character's journal, broadcast to the network. Although it is short, it needs to show how your character would communicate with others, as well as be descriptive enough to express the character's voice without sounding too generic.

Third Person Sample: The sample must take place in Route_29's setting. The minimum is 300 words. Please note that what we are looking for is an inner working into the character’s thoughts and actions, and how the character responds to the setting, not something that could be taken as an excerpt fanfic. You may use other characters to bounce your characters actions off of, but everything should still be mostly from their point of view.

.IC.

[What's okay to mention around him/her] Pretty well anything.
[Is there anything you need us to know about interacting with this character? Special physical features, special abilities, etc] He's a half-blood but tries to pass himself off as a pureblood to avoid the scrutiny of Dark Lord sympathizers.
[Can I hack that strike or otherwise find out information they'd prefer to keep hidden?] If the strike is legible, I will say so.
[What would be a suitable way of disciplining them?] Having house points docked is awful. Getting detention is awful. Having owls sent to his parents is awful. He basically dreads any and all forms of discipline.

[Can I spit at/jinx/step on/etc? (i.e. fighting)] Yes, but he might run away.
[Can I flirt with/hug/kiss/use other means of non-violent physical contact with this character] Sure! Just don't expect him to respond positively
